Location: Sliedrecht/Hybrid

Job Summary & Key Objectives

The Finance Manager is responsible for all finance related matters and other administrative functions with a strong connection to the operational teams. This includes advising and supporting our Project Managers and Consultants on pricing/quotation, budget preparation, reconciling, forecasting and (staff/resources) capacity planning.

The Finance Manager is accountable for overseeing the closing processes, managing the interpretation and implementation of accounting standards, the timely preparation of financial statements for both internal and external  users and be responsible for directing the organization’s planning and forecasting activities.

The Finance Manager will possess a strong combination between both an operational/hands-on  approach and a strategical one and will be strongly supportive to both the teams (and their Line Managers) as well as to the CEO and Management Team.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Oversee annual budget preparation, including revenue plans and operating expenses, and provide quarterly forecast updates

  • Ensure monthly financial statements are in compliance with appropriate accounting standards and submitted to stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Translating the organization’s strategy into concrete and measurable KPIs, setting and adjusting KPIs based on weekly, monthly, and quarterly figures (dashboarding)
  • Submit weekly revenue updates and other reports as required
  • Maintain and develop the ICT systems to produce adequate and timely reporting for internal and external users in support of the business
  • Responsible for maintaining internal controls and cash management
  • Liaise with external advisors like auditors, tax advisors etc. and prepare all financial and tax filings as required
  • Responsible for overseeing the Finance Administrator, ensuring smooth collaboration and providing support and guidance to maintain an efficient, compliant and well-run administration. Additionally, the Finance Manager will provide leadership to the Finance Administrator, to ensure all financial processes run smoothly.
  • Conduct HR related activities including salary planning, staff planning (hour registration/leave), payroll and commissions, employee benefits, and generate required HR related documentation.
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Various ad hoc analysis as required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 7-10 years of relevant financial and managerial experience preferably in a professional services environment (like event management, hospitality or consultancy)
  • Ability to work independently and simultaneously lead multiple projects in a small office environment where taking ownership is appreciated
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Experience and ability to automate financial processes in a structured way
  • Experience in managing Financial- and ERP systems
  • Good knowledge of Power BI
  • Experience identifying areas for improvement and implementation of more effective and efficient processes and strategies
